WHAT IS A MERGE TAG

❔ A merge tag is a field/label used to gather information and allow specific details to be automatically filled in.

Merge tags retrieve the information automatically so you don't have to manually input the information.

WHERE TO USE MERGE TAGS

You can find and input merge tags into Forms, menu items and the booking confirmation email from the following text editors:

  • Form front page "text" element

  • Menu item content page

  • Personal Details main text

  • Booking Confirmation email body

  • Thank you page

HOW TO ADD A MERGE TAG

Merge tags can be added from any html text editor where the merge tags are available. For example, if you want to add merge tags in a booking confirmation email, do the following:

  1. Go into Form settings --> Booking confirmation

  2. Scroll down to the email body text box

  3. Click the "merge tag" button, and select the merge tags you would like to add. You can add as many as you need. πŸ‘‡πŸ½

4. When clicking "Start date", this merge tag will be added where the green arrow is pointing.

This is how it will appear to the recipient of the email (with more merge tags added). πŸ‘‡πŸ½

πŸ“ŒNOTE: You can use the same merge tags that are used in the booking confirmation email body in the email subject line. To do this, copy and paste the merge tag into the subject line.

WHEN TO USE A MERGE TAG

Wherever information needs to be pulled automatically from the project, insert a merge tag to save time!

Project templates

Merge tags are particularly useful when creating project templates. Superusers can create template forms with standard texts and menu items, using merge fields to display information from the office and the project including participant information, form deadlines, links to front page, the form first step and much more.

Here are some more examples where merge tags have been used and are highlighted in yellow.

Invites/emails/SMS to participants

Merge tags can be used to personalise and include information from the project in form invitations, emails and SMS communication to participants. All text editors in Qondor have the Form and Participant merge tags submenu (screenshot further down), so you can include the following information automatically:

Participants':

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

  • Mobile number

  • Participant category
